[ Erron picks up a spear and holds it up towards Daria. ]

This one's lightweight, just swing towards whatever you wanna deal with.

[ He's just completely ignoring her "few hours' quip. ]

[Could she just turn around and go home? What would she risk doing that? Probably respect and somewhat screwed up "friendship" she had right here with the assumption that Daria was too scared to deal with this.

Mainly because she was scared.

She grudgingly took the spear. She was so, very unsure with this. She gave a air of, even though she held it in her hand, she wasn't sure she wanted this.]

Just swing. I'd be a regular kombatant in no time like that.

[She stared at the spear, deciding to not beat around the bush with this anymore.]

I don't know. I'm not sure if I should do this.

The portal's right there if you wanna git.

[ says Erron, rather nonchalantly as he's rummaging in a bag of what looked to be full of spikes.

And he was right, if Daria wanted to leave, she just needed to look over his shoulder and see the same sliver of distortion in the air that lead them here in the first place. He really looked nonplussed and sounded it too, because ah well, more weapons for him to sell on. ]

[Not into really talking about it. That's fine.

No, it actually wasn't fine. Daria looked behind her, standing there. Yeah, she could just turn around, pretend this never really happened. Except it did happen, and she wouldn't be sure if she would be okay with it if she walked right back before anything actually happened.

She sighed and held the spear a little more tight.]

Alright, I already made it out here as it is. Might as well reach top tier insanity before I decide sitting on my ass and watching TV sounds better.

[She looked back again, trying to stick to her guns and not go back. Really.]

So, do I just wait for someone to try to slaughter me for fun or is there an actual activity we can do that doesn't have to do with bloodshed?

We either instigate somethin'. Unless you wanna hunt game, cause they can't kill you.

[ He's still fiddling with his weapons, taking his Tartakan blade and retying and refixing it. ]

You can have some Outworld cuisine. Taigore flesh is great with barbeque sauce.

[He's like a small boy with his toys. Daria took a look at her death spear and gave it a rather blank look before giving Erron an equally blank one.

So she wasn't entirely wrong. You could kill for fun or eat. Daria just wanted to leave this unscathed.

It was like a twisted vacation, without her family around. Maybe this won't be horrible, maybe no one would actually care she was an outsider because technically she was hanging around another. Except she was sure that, by now, no one would be dumb enough to cross the Royal Bodyguard (TM). Then again, she went by hope. This coming from a raging pessimist.

Let's pick the least dangerous thing, actually treat this like a vacation.

Try everything once. Only once.]

All this excitement does have me craving for animal flesh covered in the most artificial barbeque sauce.

Right, the spot to hunt ain't far from here.

[ Erron's mind switched, and he looked at the assortment of weapons around them. There's enough to drug, skin and prepare a Taigore feast, which makes him strangely content. Nothing like getting down with it and skinning an animal with your own hands. ]

Let me know when you're ready.

[ Mentally, that is. ]

[Oh. Of course.]

Clearly, this place should invest in a fast food chain.

[She'd try her best to just let Erron handle the actual animal murder but Daria knew she no longer had any window to complain. She had to just hang around and deal with it.

It would make this far easier if she just accepted and moved on.

These people lived differently, after all. Daria wasn't so close minded that she didn't know that. These people had to eat. She was going to assume that Erron figured she was okay and ready to tag along because she pulled herself together and stuck close, hoping he soon started to lead.]

Bet His Highness throws the best cook outs like that.

His Highness?

[ That gets a headtilt out of Erron as he looked over at Daria, gun in his hand being reloaded. ]

Or rather, the "Guy That Pays You Money Who Happens to be Important".

[Shrug.]

Come to think of it, his cook outs probably aren't too popular because it would mean he would want his human hearts cooked a bit too rare for everyone else.

[Daria's Sense of Humor.]

Emperor Kotal... yeah. Cookouts for his most loyal and his army's always well fed. It's an Osh-tekk thing.

[ He laughs all the same. Now that all his guns are loaded and ready, he takes his Tarkatan blade and stands up. ]

One's going to be big enough for the both of us, but they're tough to kill. So keep the spear in case something sneaks up.

[ That's his way of saying, I know you are squishy so let me do most of the killing. ]

Well that's good to know, those human hearts probably taste real good with barbeque sauce too.

[Erron laughed and she smiled for probably the first time this trip. Maybe this won't be so bad, yeah. It really won't. She hoisted up her staff, a little bit nonchalantly but, hey, she was ready.]

And make sure to only poke the animals' eyes out, got it.

Darlin' I've broken hearts, not eaten them.

[ He starts walking in a particular direction, following some sort of instinct as he looked at the ground and seemed to follow imperceptible signs. ]

Come on taigore... I know you're out there.

[ Erron stops and seems to concentrate on what seems to be the dust of the sand around them. ]

[Erron may have heard a snicker under Daria's breath. It wasn't her, her face denied.

All Daria saw was desert and sand, lonely and cruel desert and sand. She should bring her notebook, seriously being within a far more brutal culture was surely some inspiration for some writing.

She was more hungry than creative though at the moment, she kicked some of the sand.]

Pretty sure they know we are too.

[ It all happened in a moment. Erron spotted the flash of a pair of eyes first and shot on instinct. The result was a Taigore falling on the ground out of the air, bleeding profusely. Seems like Erron aimed straight for the heart and got it in one. With one swoop, he took his blade and stabbed it in the throat as if to make the death final. ]

Hah.

[ Well, he didn't go quite unscathed, his hand holding was bleeding. But he could ignore that. ]

All done, you didn't need to stab anything.

[She didn't waste a breath at all. She then watched the whole scene, and didn't move at all. She was shocked but really she just stood there, amazed really.

Man slaughtered animal.

But it was...kinda cool.

Daria just stood there and kept her eyes wide.]

No fair, you got all of the fun, I guess.

[Huh, she then noticed the bleeding.]

Looks like he tried to join the fun though.

[She pointed to his hand.]

[ That just gets shrug out of Erron. He'll tend to that later. It was a cut and it was stinging, but it was really nothing. He's gonna ignore what Daria said in order to get clips and ropes on the beast so that he could pull it back to camp.

But if he had a weak point, it was his hands. He became less effective anytime his hands were affected, so the less done to them the better. ]

Got stuff back at the camp for it.

[ Grunts Erron as he proceeds to start pulling. ]

[Daria couldn't stand it anymore. She watched him yank and pull on this thing. Men were dumb like that sometimes. She sighed.]

Hold it right there, cowboy. You keep that up, the thing will be compost by the time we get back.

[She opened her backpack and got a rather large kit from it.]

I'm going to assume this place doesn't have health insurance, or tetanus shots. Can't promise either now but I guess I have the next best thing to anything resembling health care at all.

Whut the hell is that?

[ He's actually taken aback, and he lets go of the Taigore harness to clutch his hand to him. ]

Insurance.

[She knew this would've had to come in handy. Daria had no idea what kind of thing she could get herself into here. She could at least prepare herself for a few boo-boos and have no one question her heavily when she got back. That was her best case scenario. At worst, she would die. But well, yeah.

So it wasn't her that would get the boo-boo, and it was kind of amusing.

Or lucky, but she didn't actually believe in luck.

She was no person who had too much training in first aid, but anyone could clean, sterilize, and wrap a simple wound, right?]

It's a first aid kit, didn't know what kind of mess we could get in but looks like it's not just me who could get hurt out here. In the middle of nowhere. With no hospitals.

I have whiskey at the camp.

[ Erron's just gonna eye that first aid kit suspiciously. He knows what they are, but he greatly prefers sleeping off a wound with some whiskey and a bandage.

Not that Daria's heart isn't in the right place, but he's just got some resistance to modern stuff. ]

[Stubbornness was fine, she got it. He wanted to tough it out and do it his way.

She didn't want to argue as to why, but she did want to argue on something else. Or rather, just negotiate.]

You can still use that, at the camp. But we're not at the camp, and you yanking on that now isn't really going to make it better later.

[So yeah, she was being a bit earnest here, as she was when she's legit had feelings about issues.]

I'm not saying you have to sacrifice your own practices, or lower your own standards in the long run. Just speaking as someone who wants to meet you half way and make sure you can hold your guns in two hands just fine.

[ There's going to be a bit of a stare down here, Erron's just going to look straight at Daria without blinking as if gauging whether she was serious about this.

When it seemed like she wasn't going to back down, he let out an exaggerated sigh and pulled off the arm brace that he had on. The wound had coagulated blood all over it and now that he had exposed it to the air, started to sting a little. It was just a surface wound, but it was a big one none the less. ]

Be gentle, I ain't okay with all them... things.

[ ~~science~~ ]

[She would've stared back, finding it somewhat amusing that Erron was so freaked out about her modern kit as she was about being in a more brutish society. It was like some corny novel she would've probably read more than plenty of times.

When he relented, she knew she was up and she had to tread carefully.

Again, she wasn't good at this. Just clean it and wrap it enough to make him happy and not feel like he was letting himself down in anyway. Because it was how she felt when he handed her the spear.

Daria was brutal, but was fair when she honestly felt she needed to be.]

Relax, I'll make sure I don't have to amputate it.

[Kidding, again. She slowly took out the supplies she was sure she needed. Sorry Erron, it was going to sting just a little as she cleaned the dried blood off. There was dirt all over that wound, she knew that couldn't stay there. But the stinging would've stopped soon as she would've soon wrapped it in a clean bandage. It wasn't shabby work, it was passable. She honestly did try to do minimal stuff to it.]

There, done. As far as you're concerned, this kit never existed beyond this point in time. You can treat it however you want after this.

And here I was thinking you were gonna kiss it better.

[ Erron looks at his hand. It'll do. It's science, it's not just a bandage and alcohol poured over it. But his wound was clean and he couldn't begrudge her for that. After some flexing of his hand to make sure it was all okay he's just gonna grab the harness that he was using to pull the taigore back to camp.

Thankfully it isn't too far away from this point. He's going to wait until Daria's ready before continuing. ]
