[Damn, maybe she was serious. Maybe Erron would make her dad jealous. As he was cooking, she was writing in her notebook, leaving them both at some peace.

I can't believe I'm actually about to eat what was killed in front of me a few hours ago.

She couldn't believe a lot of things today but, in the end of the day, it did prove to be great writing material.

Great short story material apparently, she had been ruffling through page after page.]

[ Erron is probably old enough to be her dad. ~~Not like that's stopped him hitting on her~~. But regardless, soon enough Erron is pulling away from the fire with a nicely roasted lump of meat, coated in barbecue sauce. He sets it between them and hands her half a loaf of bread and a knife on a steel plate.

He felt a little awkward really, because he's never really shared these kinds of meals with just one person. Normally it's a whole gang of people and the silence is a little deafening.

So he coughs, trying to disguise his awkwardness because goddamn. He is decent with people.

In short bursts.

Usually.

Maybe not. ]

[Erron probably beat her dad by a few hundred years still. ~~Not like that's stopped her from thinking he's cute.~~

They seemed to spend a long time being quiet. Erron did his thing and she did hers.

With Erron and his decency and awkwardness, she was dealing with her own. They were both such outcasts in a relate-able way. Daria was sardonic and so out there in terms of mannerisms even she was aware of it sometimes.

Maybe she started writing because of that sparking inspiration. Or maybe because it was hard to really show a certain emotion and she couldn't find it in her to break the ice. When Erron started handing out the food, the fresh bread in front of her in particular, she knew she had to say something.]

...Hey, if it wasn't really apparent before....thanks.

Eh.

[ Wow, what a very eloquent reply, Erron. ]

This was my idea, I gotta take some responsibility for it. You don't seem bored though.

[ Please like the Taigore meat, it's just like beef but more game-y in flavour. Erron's tried to make it more palatable to Earthrealm palettes though whether he succeeded is a different manner all together. ]

I can definitely still say this place is much better than Lawndale. Take that for what that's worth.

[She took a bite of the meat, and then another. Then another.]

I just know it took you a few sweet talks to even get me here.

[This food was good, she was going to keep eating it.]

I'm a sweet talker.

[ Erron sat down next to Daria, his own meal in front of him. He reached up and took his hat off, setting it in front of him. Then he reached up again to put his hands behind his head.

A moment later, his mask was off in his hand and he was rubbing his chin. Sure he didn't really need to eat, but he enjoyed it. Plus there's something satisfying about eating your own prey. ]

[Daria almost made another remark about that sweet talking thing he was so skilled at when Erron removed his mask.

She...had never seen that mask off.

Huh.]

Oh wow, you have a face under there. That's good to know.

[ Erron frowns. He's got a bit of stubble and there's a difference between the tanned and covered areas but he's not terrible looking. In fact, he thinks he's pretty great looking. ]

'Course I got a face.

[ He looks up at Daria, eyebrow raised questioningly. ]

What kind of freak do ya taking me for?

[~~Fairly good looking, not that Daria was looking. Nope.~~ Daria simply shrugged. She remembered how everyone acted when she got contacts and shocked literally everyone.]

Just never saw you with that off is all.

[She said that in a way that suggested that it was a pretty cool thing.]

[ He makes himself a sandwich and takes a bite out of it. ]

Can't eat with the thing on. They ain't like your glasses.

Except I'd be without a different, but also crucial, human sense.

[She took another bite, and thank you, sir.]

I tried the contacts thing, decided against it.

{ Give Erron a minute as he squints at you, he's just trying to figure out how you'd look without them.

After a moment, he seems satisfied so he's just gonna straight back to his sandwich. ]

[Daria squinted back, and when he returned to his sandwich.

She removed her glasses.

So whenever Erron looked again, poof. Gone.]

[ Oh, well.. her eyes seemed... smaller? When Erron looks up, he tilts his head. Not like it was a bad thing. ]

What is this, honesty hour? Am I gonna have to take off my shirt next?

[~~Not that she could see.~~ Daria didn't expect really all that much from that little social experiment, she put back on her glasses and sighed. Just like all the others, they just get so confused at Daria without her glasses. Not that she wanted to be vain just now, or fill a different kind of curiosity. Not at all.]

Unless if you have the uncanny desire for third degree burns, I can trust there's nothing dishonest under all of those clothes.

[ said in all seriousness as he takes another bite of his sandwich. ]

And a chest that won't have an intense sunburn, hopefully.

[She just finished eating her food, and was...really satisfied with it.]

[ Erron's just finishing up, he's enjoying it. Plus he'll let Daria enjoy his face, it's not like she enjoyed it often because his mask is very useful. Especially if you're an outlaw. ]

Well I have to hand it to you, if I ever ate meat I saw get killed and then cooked almost right after, I would say that was probably the best I had. All in all, a great day.

[ Colour Erron shocked. He raises his eyebrow again in her direction. Part of him wanted to say that it was sarcasm speaking on Daria's part but... he could believe that it wasn't either. Especially with the way she ate everything and kept it down. ]

It's a thing for your journal. Not like you got hurt either.

[ He's gonna ignore the fact that he was the one who got hurt here. ]

I did tell you this place was better than Lawndale.

[So yeah, it was...actually genuine. Also, she ignored it because he was sure he wanted to forget that even happened. Male ego and all.]

Despite my wording earlier, it still means I can stand to be here more than in my own house and especially my high school.

[She got out said journal and she flipped through it, she wrote a good twenty or so pages. Oh wow.]

I can safely say this place was a good inspiration for writing a new short story.

[ He looks so self satisfied at this point, like a contented cat. Yeaaaaaah boy, those 20 pages were his influence. Excellent. Does wonders for man's ego. ]

Good to hear it.

[ Erron picks up his mask and starts dusting off. ]

Any last requests?

[Daria might let him read it...on the next armageddon. She writes usually very graphic and bloody stuff anyway, so more of it in her surroundings the better.

She looked to the side, toward the town. Then toward the desert.

She couldn't believe she was saying this but:]

I think after another twenty pages, I might come up with how my protagonist lives after being shot three times in the stomach.

Uhm...Surprise me.

Has anyone told you that you look good with or without glasses on?

[Erron, you...you jerk.

Daria stared blankly back at the town. She didn't move, and she could've sworn she breathed a little slower. She was hard to flatter, and yet, well.

She didn't know whether to be angry or stay quiet.

Well, you asked him to surprise you, Miss Morgendorffer. That was a surprising thing to say. Better give the jerk some credit, he took words literally. That was a stupid thing to say, don't fall for it. You know the kind of guy he is. But you've done a really good job staying away and making friends with someone you shouldn't. Too late now.

Who's the stupid one now?

Thinking that way, she found it hard to believe those kind of words. Then what? Should she really be angry?
